Academic Curriculum of KIC


KIC currently runs a general academic programme based on the National Policy of Education with the revised 9-year Basic Education Curriculum as amended which includes subjects in Arts and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Studies, Languages, Vocational and Technology and Sciences. The subjects are geared towards writing the following examinations:

  • Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)
  • WAEC SSCE
  • NECO SSCE

For students who specifically request for international examinations, KIC prepares them for:

  • Pre-Scholarship Aptitude Test (SAT)
  • IGCSE
  • SAT

At the School of Further Studies, KIC prepared candidates for the following examinations:

  • Cambridge Advanced Level Programme (A level)
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
  • SAT
  • UTME and Post UTME.

Students are trained through e-learning methods with best international practices. Students are also taught how to effectively take Computer-based examinations to ensure they are well prepared for taking university examinations.

The results of the students have been excellent since 2000 when the first set of students took their final examinations. Management has kept the standard of education high by ensuring that all teachers possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in their teaching subject and has maintained a teacher – students ratio of 1 : 9.

Extra-curricular Activities


In its concerted efforts at realizing the objectives of bringing out the full potential of each student, the College compliments its academic programmes with robust extra-curricular activities. These activities are implemented through clubs and skill acquisition and provide the students with a broad spectrum within which they can expand their interests and talents.
